Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was involved in a car accident near Lagos on December 29th, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two close friends.”
His release from the hospital follows the boxing community shared condolences for the star in the wake of the devastating accident.
